Babies have cool stuff

At first, Emerson was not sure what to think of this thing called an exersaucer
He thinks it is pretty cool that it makes him stand up, but what else does it do?
"Really, Mom?" I think he was ready to get out.
Now, this horse called a jumparoo makes him smile!
Ride 'em, cowboy!

Check out this jumparoo in action, including big sister picking on him:

And another first..

Look at the big boy with a tray and bib!! Emerson is ready to try some rice cereal!
By the looks of this face, I would say that he is not sure he likes it
"Seriously, Mom, let's try something with a little more flavor next time."

A first for Emerson

Emerson had his first weekend away with only Mommy & Daddy while Eleanor went to Knoxville with GrandDaddy Pope, Uncle Andre, Aunt Heidi & cousin Memphis for cousin Ayda's birthday. Everyone had a great time, although from this picture it looks like Emerson was bored- he was just so tired from all the excitement of the children's museum in Raleigh- Marbles Kids Museum
They had a perfect area for Emerson- a fenced in soft play ground! Although the ball looks  as big as him, he could grab it and try to put it in his mouth
I think Emerson likes his tongue as much as Eleanor does
"Mommy, who is that other baby playing with us? He looks cool." Thanks to our friends, Christy, Finley & Liam who went to the museum with us. We had a blast!!

Warning- cuteness ahead!

Cuddle time on the couch listening to Daddy read Green Eggs and Ham
I hope that Eleanor will always want to hug Emerson like this
My heart is so full of love for these two cuties
This picture looks like trouble...
But maybe it was just to switch arms to hold him more!

This is Nakia's favorite book to read Eleanor and he is excited to share it with Emerson too:

Are you ready for some football?

I think Emerson is going to be a sports guy
Eleanor wanted all of her animals to watch the big game with her
Popcorn is a must-have for football watching
He is one focused boy
Since watching football gets tiring, nap time is also important

Who's playing?

Snowy Day

Yes, it is Spring, but once upon a time, we had some snow and some great pictures were taken, so enjoy this cool break!
Emerson was warm but slightly bothered by the flakes that fell on his face
Eleanor and Campbell did their best to walk around in it, but it was up to their calves
Cutie Campbell loved the snow!
Eleanor was happy too, as long as she was bundled up
The boys, Robbie, Nakia & Emerson, standing in the blizzard
Of course, we had to make snow angels
Emerson was tired and ready for his nap
Nakia and Campbell attempted to sled, although all we had was a cardboard box
The castle became a neighborhood gathering place
Eleanor is the keeper of this castle
Mommy provided the right place for Emerson to take his nap
Emerson's first snow!
Eleanor is ready for the next snow!

Because he has a big sister

Emerson gets dressed up. I am sure this is only the beginning of more to come..

Snow White & Sleeping Beauty (thanks MaGa & Grandpa Gette for the costumes!)

Things even get thrown on him:

But, she makes up for it with love:

Happy New Year!

Well, since it is actually May 1st, I am exactly 4 months behind in wishing everyone a happy new year!! So, let's try to recap and catch up! We spent our new year day organizing our cars,
eating Christmas Oreos, dipped in milk, of course, and
being silly! Notice Eleanor's shirt- "Small body, big attitude". I had to buy it when I saw it!
