WHEE!

This video was taken at my birthday party, but I continue to scream with delight when I go down the hill in my car!

A few of my favorite words

Thanks, Daddy, for getting me this Boston Red Sox hat(what? it's not my size?). "Hat"was one of my first words and continues to be a favorite.
A "ball" has got to be the best toy ever!
Yummy, "apples" are delicious! Mommy thought the apple was hers, but I took over when she thought she was finished. Other things I like to say (that Mommy & Daddy can understand so far) are: Mama, Dada, my own name, baby, car, cheese, yogurt ("gogurt" is the actual name), bowl, bubbles, cracker, egg, bee, flower, star, key, cracker, juice ("ju"), animal sounds for cow, sheep, pig, dog, cat, duck, and monkey, plus I can point out my eye, ear, head, nose, mouth and tongue (and say a few of them). I like to clap along with "If you're happy and you know it", play basketball and house, climb into the laundry basket, and take things apart (Mommy hopes to see how they work, but somehow they never get put back together...yet). And thanks to Daddy, I LOVE books!

My first birthday photo shoot

Technically, I was 13 months in these pictures, but who's counting?! Mommy, Daddy and I met with Dustin Manning at Glencairn Gardens in Rock Hill. I crawled up and down stairs, splashed some water and showed Rose bud, my pink elephant, the soft grass and beautiful park. Please click here to see over 80 pictures of just me (OK, mommy and daddy are in some too, but I am the main attraction).

Oops.. did I do that?

Mommy was brave and let me eat my puffs right out the container. Well, this is what happens! They still taste good off the floor!

Busy week continued- Good-bye Cupps :(

The wonderful coffee shop that Mommy worked part-time at has closed. I started going there when I was about 3 months old. I loved their cranberry scones, made by the lovely Lell. I will especially miss the fish that you see me waving to and Mommy doesn't know what she will do without the wonderful coffee. RIP, Cupps Cafe.

Last week was a busy one

On Monday, Mommy and I went to the park and they have slides that are just my size.
Then, this elephant gave me a bouncy ride.
On Tuesday, I helped Mommy reorganize her CD collection and it was a warm one so it was much easier to do without clothes on. "My future is so bright...I gotta wear shades!"
On Wednesday, I wore a bow for the first time and as long as Mommy didn't let me know it was there, I didn't try to pull it out.
And finally on Thursday, to get ready for my first photo shoot with a photographer, I learned how to say, "Cheese!". I just have to figure out how to keep my eyes open for the flash!

Little Mommy

Thanks to Grandma Gette for saving Mommy's outfits so that I could play dress-up in them. If you look closely at the red dress picture, you can see a photo of Mommy in the same dress. Happy Mother's day to a wonderful Mommy who takes such good care of me and always makes me laugh.

Pope-Martin family reunion

This past Saturday, Mommy and I went to the Pope-Martin family reunion. It was nice seeing Grand Daddy and Grandma Teresa, but I also got to spend some time with Great-Uncle Joe, who introduced me to a lemon. It was tasty and I look forward to the next one I enjoy. The games were fun- I can make a bean bag into a basket! BBQ is always a wonderful food- says my Uncle Andre, who is an official BBQ judge for South Carolina. Sorry you missed it, Daddy, but we were glad to go!

Who doesn't love the bath!?

Now that I've gotten used to the bigger bath tub, I love it!! Although I scared Daddy by almost climbing out the other day (sorry, Daddy!). I have some awesome balls to play with and a book to read so it makes for a great time. The fish on my faucet is wonderful too so that I don't hit my head- he gets kisses at the end of every bath. Who wants to join me? I'm getting ready to swim in a bigger bath tub soon this summer!

It's my party & I can cry if I want to...

I think it was the candle being lit on my birthday cupcake that really made me mad, but then everyone singing to me wasn't helping. And that darn hat- come on, Mommy.

At least I ate my cupcake for dinner. Yum-O!

Starting Young

What can I get you, Daddy? It looks like something called Samuel Adams is on top, but I can get down into the ice for you. I'm not sure I can open this bottle. I'll leave that to you.
