A Few of my Favorite Things..

This Christmas has been very exciting for me and I want to share with you some of the best of it:
Our neighbors, Sherry & Steve, came by on Christmas Eve with a tea set for me. I had practiced with Sherry's tea set from when her kids were little (now, they have their own kids) so she knew I would like it.
Santa listens well! I asked for a "choo-choo" and I got one! Thanks, Santa- this one has animals on it!
Rudolph brought me books because he knows how much I love to read.
One of my favorites is my new Elmo chair! (Mommy actually got it used, but I can't tell the difference!)
Another train- what a busy girl I will be! Thanks Mommy and Daddy for the Thomas one!
Since I love fire trucks, I also received a Fire Station with a truck and an ambulance. It makes great siren sounds and I enjoy opening the doors for the cars to leave.
You are never too young to learn how to scratch off lottery tickets- Daddy won $4!
By the look on my face, you can tell that this is one of my favorites- Thanks to Uncle Andre, Aunt Heidi & cousin Memphis for the Curious George shirt with my name on it! I'm so happy to wear it (obviously).
It was so great to have Grand Daddy Pope with us on Christmas day to share his love. Thanks for coming, Grand Daddy!
This chair is almost cooler than the Elmo one because it rocks and has my name on it! Thanks Grandpa and MaGa Gette! You had to send it a long way and Daddy had to work really hard to put it together, but I am so happy it is here for me!
Last, but certainly not least, Grand Daddy and Grandma Teresa gave me an awesome kitchen of my own! I've already made Daddy some tea and talked on the phone while I did it.
Thanks to everyone for loving me so much! I love y'all too!

Me and Santa

Yesterday, we saw Santa at Old Town Bistro and it was great because he was the same one that was there last year!

So, here's December 8, 2007:
And December 20, 2008:
Santa enjoyed tickling me and I enjoyed it!
Another little girl about my age was so scared of him, but I walked right up to him and asked for a choo-choo for Christmas.
I really hope he brings me one because I love trains! It was so warm yesterday that I could sit outside without tights on.
Santa, Rudolph and I are ready to report for duty when needed!

And more reading...

Mommy says I take after my Daddy who loves books, so here's 2 more examples of my reading skills:

Yes, that's football on the TV in the background :) The Cowboys were playing and we have to root for Grandpa Gette and Aunt Leanna's favorite team!

Reading to George

First, here's a picture of our decorated Christmas tree- I enjoy pulling things off so Mommy & Daddy tried to minimize what I could take off. If you send us a Christmas card, it will end up on the tree! Next, I LOVE to read books and sometimes I do it on my own. Enjoy the video!

Weekend at Grand Daddy's

This past weekend, Mommy and I drove to Knoxville, TN, to visit Grand Daddy and Grandma Teresa, plus Uncle Andre, Aunt Heidi and cousin Memphis were there! Poor Daddy had to give an exam on Saturday so we left him at home.

First, I wanted to check out the paper and see what events were going on at our destination (or who won the basketball game):
Next, I helped Grand Daddy make some breakfast- yummy eggs, grits, turkey bacon & country ham. (Mommy was a little nervous of where I was sitting, but Grand Daddy was right there.)
I always make time for a little coloring, especially a picture of Santa Claus!
Grand Daddy's girls- me and Samantha (minus Memphis)
We found Memphis, but only Grand Daddy had the smile- me and Memphis have our game faces on (or our sad-to-be-leaving Grand Daddy and Grandma Teresa- faces)
Even though I am slightly jealous of Memphis, I love her so much and can't wait to see her again soon!

We got my first Christmas tree!

This past Saturday, we went to Penland Christmas Tree Farm to get my first Christmas tree- you may ask, but Eleanor, you were around last Christmas, however, I was in Texas at Grandpa & Grandma Gette's where there was an artificial tree... so, this is my first real tree in our own house, OK? Luckily, we had the help of my Aunt Jen and cousin Mikayla!! It was so nice to spend a day with them. Daddy and I started by scoping out the selection:
How's this one?
Mommy picked her favorite one and Daddy worked hard to cut it down!
Time to show off Daddy's work and our tree, but I'm too thirsty to smile.
We love looking for trees!
And we can pose well in front of a snowman.
And to finish it off we went on a hay ride while Daddy was putting the tree on the car. Also, we got to roast marshmallows, but those pictures are on Aunt Jen's camera. It was yummy though!

Coloring & Driving

Not at the same time, of course!
I can't wait until I get to drive this car by myself, but for now, this is as close as Mommy & Daddy let me get to the steering wheel.
Thanks to Aunt Heidi for my new shirt in this picture- it says "Bookworm" and it's very appropriate!

More Thanksgiving pics

It's wordless Wednesday, so just enjoy the pics! No more talking from me today (although that's a rare occurrence in our house now!)

My Saturday Tradition

During the fall college football season, our Saturday tradition is to watch football and eat pizza. Last weekend, we decided to make our own.
Listen- I think the timer went off for the crust!
Can you believe that Mommy and Daddy let me use my own big spoon?
This may be a messy job, but it has big rewards in the end!
The 2 chefs awaiting the pizza from the oven. Don't we look cute in our aprons?!
