It's Pumpkin Time!!

We went to an apple orchard that had a pumpkin patch on Oct 20th. Mommy is a little slow posting my pictures lately. I'm not sure why I had to sit on them- not the most comfortable seat. I really wanted to take this big one home, but we found one that was just my size.

Why, oh, why?

Enjoy this clip of me eating peaches. I don't know why Mommy & Daddy try so hard when I obviously was not interested.

Two more down..

I'm becoming such a good eater! Mommy & Daddy have given me peaches & acorn squash. I sure do like to eat! Mommy said I have to try a green vegetable next, so Daddy says I get to have his favorite- peas. I'll let you know what I think of those soon.

Me and my Virginia Peeps

Last weekend, my family took me to Virginia to meet their old friends. First, we went to Richmond & sweet Emma welcomed me with BIG hugs. Her new little sister, Izzy, was very nice too, although she didn't do much but eat, sleep & poop (she's 1 month old). Thanks to Chuck & Kellie for being great hosts- mommy & daddy said they had great food at their house. We also had a playdate with Kurt, Kristin, J.D., & Lily at the park. I had so much fun playing in the sand with Lily. Thanks for some yummy fruit at the Stemhagen house. Then, we went to Charlottesville, where Mommy & Daddy lived before I was born. I got to see their old house (minus a big tree in front), ACAC & ALL of Mommy's friends (I got lots of oohs & aahs & hugs), University of Virginia where Daddy went to school (his adviser Eric was nice enough to give up his office for me to eat and get a clean diaper), and the beautiful Shenandoah valley. A big thanks to Rich & Laura Miller (plus their fur baby, Logan) for letting us stay at their house. Mommy & Daddy said they had a great dinner with them & Matt & Amy, who gave me a GREAT gift of Curious George & "Make way for Ducklings". It was a busy time & I wish I could have stayed longer.

Sorry!

We're taking a little break- me, Mommy & Daddy went to Charlottesville & Richmond, Virginia to visit friends. We will post some pictures soon of our trip. Mommy is just a little slow getting the pictures up.

Guess what??

I'm half a year old! Mommy & Daddy can't believe how fast time is flying by. I am now sitting up without any help, which is so much fun. It means I can play with my toys all by myself, although I still like to show off my skills for Mommy & Daddy (it's no fun playing alone!). I can also push myself off the ground with my arms. Having trouble figuring out how my legs go with it, but watch out Mommy, it won't be long! Mommy was very proud of me too when I said her name the other day. I may have been asking her to feed me, so I was a little mad, but I did say, "Mama". I did it again on the changing table when I wasn't mad to make sure she really heard me- Daddy was there to witness it too. It's so much fun growing up & sharing my life with you. Thanks for following along- can you keep up??

Me & Tigger

Tigger is so silly. He makes a great chair & he talks to me. Thanks Granddaddy Pope for giving him to me. Hopefully I'll be bigger than him someday, but for now I like how he holds me up.

My first fruit...

is bananas! At first, I wasn't too sure what to think of it. It was a little stringy, but after getting it all over my face, I decided that I love it! I finished my entire bowl & even licked it clean. Keep the good food coming, Mommy!

Good-bye Grandpa & Grandma Gette

Thanks Grandma Marilyn & Grandpa Roger for a wonderful time! It was so much fun playing with you, checking out nature & eating out together. I can't wait until I can come visit you in Texas! Have a safe trip back home & come again soon!
I was so sad to see you go that I cried going down for a nap because I knew after I closed my eyes that you would be gone. I guess I'll have to pretend to be happy to see only Mommy when I wake up- maybe we'll put your picture up in my room so I can see you everyday! Lots of love, hugs and kisses to you both!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AUNT LEANNA!

Sorry we can't be there to celebrate with you (& that your Mom & Dad are here with me instead), but we wish you a very happy 28th birthday! We enjoyed singing happy birthday to you on Sunday and eating your yummy cake, although Mommy said I couldn't have any :( That frosting must be good because you licked it right off the candle :) Lots of love for Aunt Leanna & the happiest of birthdays!

My Entourage

So that you can put a face to the names, here's my crew of family! First, we have Aunt Leanna, Grandpa Roger, Mommy (of course), Grandma Marilyn (peeking over), Daddy (what a handsome devil!), Father John (from St. Philip Neri Church- he assisted Grandpa), Aunt Jen with cousin Mikayla & Uncle Robert.

In the next photo, there is Cousins Amy & Robert, Grandma Teresa, Granddaddy Sammy, you should know those other 2 again, Uncle Andre (in profile), Auntie L, Aunt Heidi, Great-grandma Azile, & last, but not least, Mimsi. There you have them- if you mess with me, you get a crowd!

Special thanks to Amelia Harper for taking these awesome photos!
