What do you hear?

This is me about a month ago, but Mommy wanted to share with you how much I like to hear my own voice lately!

I told Mommy that she should show off my signing skills too- also from about 2 months ago!

Another great P word...

PARTY! That's what I had on Sunday to celebrate my first birthday with my friends and family. What do you think of my cool hat?? Is that cupcake for me?
What about all of these cupcakes? Oh, Mommy said they are balloons! I love balloons- I like to call them balls.
Thanks to my Uncle Andre who fed me some fruit during my party and brought some excellent BBQ that I have been enjoying for dinner.
Thanks also to Aunt Heidi who brought my cousin Memphis with her in her belly. I can't wait to meet her in July (or August).
And a big thanks to Grand Daddy Pope and Grandma Teresa for my red car! I love going for rides in it and honking my horn when someone gets in my way. My favorite thing is to go downhill in it- whee!I had a wonderful time with great friends and family. Thanks to all who came- I appreciate the presents :)

Two fun P words..

...parades & picnics! The annual Come-See-Me festival is going on in Rock Hill and kicked off with a parade. I loved waving at the kids on the floats, but the marching bands were a little loud for me.

Mommy and I enjoy walking and eating with our friends, Christopher & Reagan, along with their mommy, Sarah. We fed ducks and each other plus tried not to get sunburned. Unfortunately, Mommy was not so lucky. Don't forget your sunscreen next time, Mommy!

And then there were 2...

TEETH! Right after the first one, a second one joined it- I guess it was lonely. I'm doing pretty well with it. It's definitely helping me eat a little more. I can take bigger pieces of food now and gnaw them down. Thank goodness for teeth! (Again, you may have to click on the picture to see the close-up)

So many firsts...

Today (well, April 10th to be precise) was my first birthday and I got to sit by myself on the plane ride to Boston. It wasn't my first plane ride- actually my third (I'm quite the little traveler). I think I do need to change my blog title to "The Adventures of Eleanor"- thanks for the idea, cousin Canyon!
After we arrived in Boston, I got to ride in my first cab. That was very exciting as we went through tunnels and over water. I was getting a little sleepy though and was ready to take a nap as soon as we made it to the hotel.
The scoreboard at Fenway Park was so intriguing- I couldn't take my eyes off it. Thanks Daddy for teaching me all about the Red Sox and baseball. I can't wait until I am bigger and can learn to play ball!
Can you see my tooth? It's getting bigger and I have a surprise that I will share with you tomorrow.
It was past my bedtime but I hung in there cheering for the Red Sox, until everyone else starting cheering & it scared me. Mommy and Daddy took good care of me and I had a great time!

What a busy week!

I am starting to master some new toys. This bead thingy is pretty cool and I like to call them "balls" because I love balls! Mommy's friend, Sandy, invited us to go swimming with her and my friend, Lilly. It surprised me at first since it was bigger than my bathtub, but I got used to it and loved it! I wasn't very happy being lifted out of the water though as it was kind of cold. Mommy says I should get comfortable in the water since we will be going to Key West in July and it will be ALOT bigger than this pool. Tomorrow is a big day- I am going to be 1!! I'm getting lots of rest now because we are flying to Boston early in the morning and we are all going to our first Boston Red Sox baseball game in the evening. Go Red Sox!!

Can you see it??

That's right- it's my first tooth!! I've been having a little trouble lately, not sleeping as well, because it's been a little painful, but it sure is worth it! Now I can show off some pearly white :) OK, so you may have to click on the picture to see the picture VERY LARGE in order to see the tooth, but we promise it is there!

Off to Tennessee!

After Easter, Mommy and I headed out to visit my godmother Erin and family. We stopped in Knoxville first to see Grand Daddy Pope and Grandma Teresa, where the Easter bunny had made a visit.
Then, I went to Grand Daddy's office and he showed me how he works (and he showed me off to his work buddies!)

When we arrived in Nashville, Mommy made me take a bath with Matthew, Erin's son, who is 18 months old, and I was not happy about this. Especially because Godmother Erin thought it was funny.
I was happier after I got to play with Matthew's toys- he has this cool car and he can drive already! Mommy and I had a great time with everyone, but we were glad to get back home to Daddy.

Easter... part 2

I know that Easter was 2 weeks ago, but I wanted to share my pictures with you. It was so nice that we took pictures outside in my pretty dress. By the end of the day, I was a bunny!! Hope you all enjoyed this special day!

Happy belated Easter!

Do I look like a tulip or a rose to you? Of course, I'm a rose :) What can I find here to put in my bag?
So, you call this an Easter egg? I hope there's something cool inside!

Grits, Waterfalls, & Horses, oh my!

To continue to catch you up... On the last day of Daddy's spring break, we went hiking at a local greenway. To start the day, I got my first taste of grits. Then, I got in my trusty backpack and saw a beautiful waterfall."Clover" the horse (we named her that since she was lucky enough to let us touch her) was very friendly and didn't mind when I scratched her nose for her.
Raisins, anyone? I think I may have dropped a few down Daddy's shirt :)
After a long day, a nice soak in the tub always does a body good.
Let's see what relaxing music we can find to end this wonderful day.

More updates

My lovely Mommy's birthday was on St. Patrick's Day and she turned 30! We went to this great restaurant called Buca di Beppo where we sat in the Pope room (how appropriate). So many people were there, including Grandpa & Grandma Gette, Aunt Leanna & soon-to-be Uncle Bobby, Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Robert & cousin Mikayla, Robert Pettis (Uncle Robert's dad) and of course, Daddy.

Mikayla and I wore our festive attire. I can't wait to spend many more St. Patrick's days with my Mommy! Slainte! (That is the word for "health" used in Ireland to mean "cheers!")

I'm back!!

I know it's been a long time since you've heard from me. Mommy, Daddy & I have been very busy. I'm sorry to keep you all waiting so here's a recap of the last 3 weeks in my life.

March 15th- Mommy's 30th birthday party! My godmother, Erin Tieman & her son, Matthew made the drive from Nashville, TN, for the special occasion. I had a great time playing with Matthew- he taught me some new things, especially how to share my toys.He also liked to try and kiss me, but sometimes I ran away. We went to a park and went down the slide together. I think I'm a little too small for it now, but I'll be climbing like him in no time!
We had an awesome party for Mommy and even though there was big thunderstorm, Daddy cooked fajitas on the grill. What a good Daddy and husband!
I'll update you more in a little while- time for lunch!
