An Adventure to EdVenture

EdVenture is a great children's museum in Columbia and thanks to Groupon, we went for free! Plus we got to invite some friends- thanks to Sandy, Riley & J.T. for joining us.
Emerson is not good at staying still in his stroller- this boy wants to get out and explore!
Eleanor is always fascinated by the play grocery store (I wish she felt the same way about going with Mommy!)
Emerson was so happy to be down on the ground playing with the blocks
Eleanor and Riley were trying hard to work together and make the tractor move- J.T. was enjoying the ride
There was even outside water fun- Eleanor is trying to create a wall to stop the boat
Eleanor and Riley being silly at lunch
Maybe I should have taken a picture of what Eleanor was writing, although it was probably her name- she is great at writing that now!
Beautiful music was made and so much was had at EdVenture!!

The Best of June

Emerson and I are happy to have Eleanor home for the summer- she is great at sharing toys and playing with her little brother
She loves to get in the crib with Emerson after nap
They are so sweet to each other
Although it looks like Emerson is escaping, he loves the attention from his big sister!
Our friend, Ethan, turned 3 and he had an awesome Diego birthday party- here Eleanor is showing us her clue cards
Emerson was showing off his new hat & hanging with his awesome Daddy
Check out Eleanor's bird feeder
Emerson is a boy with many expressions
And an independent spirit to get his own snacks
Eleanor had an awesome time at Vacation Bible School at St. Philip Neri- she learned some great new songs and the movements for them
Emerson has become more interested in the kitchen, which is always helpful when Mommy has to cook
Emerson got a new carseat and he really likes it!
Unfortunately, Emerson and his friend, Charlie, did not like the sprayground
But Eleanor was happy to be on the swings
These friends go to different schools so they don't see each other often, but when they get together it's like no time has passed
Riley, Eleanor and Julia enjoying some lunch after swimming
Eleanor took swim lessons at Winthrop & it really helped with her confidence- we hope to do them again next summer there (my favorite part was that it was inside- no sunscreen needed!)
Our neighbor, Princess Campbell, came over to play often & it made the summer so much fun!
June 24th was a happy day for Eleanor- the opening day of Cars 2, the movie- so Mommy & Daddy got a sitter for Emerson so we could take Eleanor alone to see it
Who's got a coffee filter on his head? This cute guy :)

Happy 1st Birthday to our baby boy!!

I must take a break from my delayed posting to wish Emerson a very happy 1st birthday!! I can't believe it has already been a year since we brought our big bundle of joy home and became a family of 4. Life is wonderful. Emerson is a fun baby, who loves his big sister, Eleanor & puts a smile on our faces daily. Hugs and kisses from your Mommy, Daddy, & Eleanor.

Playtime at the park & pool

We are very lucky to have good parks, seasonal weather & wonderful friends to help us enjoy it! Emerson and his buddies, Sawyer & Charlie, stayed cool in the shade and comfortable on the blanket at Cherry Park.
The moms must have been doing a funny dance to get all those boys looking our way at the same time!
I still can't believe how much Emerson & Charlie have grown- only 6 days apart, Emerson started out over 1 1/2 lbs bigger than Charlie, but Charlie has caught up!
Riley, Charlie's big brother, enjoys playing with Eleanor because they both love cars.  It looks like a fun game of peek-a-boo coming out of these circles.
Thanks to our great friends, Kim & Kaitlyn, we got to cool off in their neighborhood pool. Eleanor has become a more confident swimmer with the aid of the arm inflatables.
Emerson only likes this boat on dry land, unlike his sister, who loved it at his age
Eleanor doesn't like getting the water in her nose
All the fun in the sun wore Emerson out- he had no problem taking a nap in the shade

Growing boy & busy girl

At 9 months old, Emerson enjoys drinking from a sippy cup
He is so good at it that he can do it with one hand
Eleanor has always enjoyed books and as she gets older, the books get bigger
Emerson hasn't quite figured out crawling, but I think that is because Eleanor brings him whatever he wants.
It worried me at first that Emerson likes to have a blanket over his face while he is sleeping, but he goes to sleep much easier with his favorite blanket
Emerson prefers the bigger piece of banana to the cut-up pieces- but bananas are not one of his favorite foods
He figured out how to clap and gets excited when we clap with him
Just like Eleanor, Emerson mastered the art of crawling backwards first and ends up under the tables.
My big boy feeding himself- he is a very independent child when it comes to food

Happy Father's day (early or late, however you look at it)

For Nakia's early Father's day gift, we made him go on a hunt to search for his gift: he was sad that it wasn't in Eleanor's closet...
"Look, Emerson, it's in your closet!"
Daddy was very excited to get Rock Band for the Wii (which was my Mother's day gift)
Even Eleanor gets to play- she prefers the drums
Our wonderful daddy with his 2 blessings
Time for some wrestling and tickling (what Daddies do best)
Eleanor was very proud of her creation- she planned the cake decorations all by herself. We are so lucky to have an amazing Daddy- thanks Nakia for all you do for us!
